Terms of Service
Effective date: July 17, 2026 · Applies to the Unyell mobile app and unyell.depekur.com website
The short version
Unyell is a repair kit, not therapy. The app is paid: one subscription unlocks everything, including AI-written repair stories and patterns — it renews automatically until you cancel it in your App Store or Google Play settings. Stories are written by AI: read them with your own judgment. Be 18+, keep the feed anonymous and kind. If your family is in crisis, call the resources at the bottom — not us.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Unyell ("we", "us") covering the Unyell mobile application and the unyell.depekur.com website (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
2. What Unyell is — and is not
Unyell offers scripted suggestions for reconnecting with your child after a difficult moment, AI-generated personalized repair stories (see Section 6), calming exercises, parenting affirmations, a private repair log and check-in diary, and an anonymous community feed.
Unyell is not a medical, mental-health, or therapy service. It is not a substitute for professional advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and does not create any clinician–patient relationship. Content in the app is general parenting information. Always use your own judgment about your family, and seek qualified professional help for anything beyond an ordinary hard moment. If you believe a child or any person is in danger, contact your local emergency services immediately.
3. Who can use it
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into this agreement. The Service is designed for parents and caregivers; it is not directed at children, and children may not create accounts or post content.
4. Your account
Accounts are anonymous and created automatically on your device — no email or password. That design has a consequence you accept: if you delete the app (or lose your device) without linking a recovery email in Settings, your history cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. You are responsible for activity that happens through your device. You may permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time via Settings → "Delete my data".
5. Purchases, subscriptions and payments
Using the app requires an auto-renewable subscription. One plan, two billing periods:
- Yearly — $59.99 per year, or Weekly — $3.99 per week.
- Both include everything: AI-generated repair stories, repair scripts, your patterns, the community feed, the check-in diary, calming tools and 2am mode. There is no second tier and nothing inside the app costs extra.
Prices are shown in the app before purchase and may vary by region and change over time. For purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play:
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google account at confirmation of purchase.
- The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; renewal is charged within 24 hours before the period ends, at the then-current price.
- You can manage or cancel any time in your App Store / Google Play account settings — deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; you keep access until then. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments are non-refundable and refund requests are handled by Apple or Google under their policies.
- Use "Restore purchases" in the app to re-activate your subscription on a new device with the same store account.
- If we change subscription prices, the change applies no earlier than your next renewal, and the store will notify you and/or ask for consent as their rules require.
6. AI-generated stories
With a subscription you can describe a difficult moment and receive a personalized repair script or bedtime story generated by an artificial-intelligence model ("Stories"). Stories are a repair tool, not therapy, and the following applies:
- AI output can be imperfect. Stories are generated automatically from what you type and your onboarding answers. They may contain errors, awkward phrasing, or details that don't fit your situation. Read every story yourself before reading it to your child, use the in-app edit option to fix what's off, and apply your own judgment — Stories are general parenting content, not professional, medical, or therapeutic advice.
- Safety review of input. Text you submit for generation passes an automated safety check. If it suggests a situation bigger than an ordinary hard moment, the app does not generate a story and instead shows professional support resources; such input is not stored.
- Fair use limits. Story generation is subject to a monthly limit per account, which we may adjust over time. Generation requires an internet connection.
- Availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Stories feature (for example, for safety or quality reasons); if we discontinue it permanently, Section 15 (changes) applies.
- Yours to keep, yours only. Your input stays yours, and generated Stories are for your personal, family use under the license in Section 9. We never publish your Stories, and neither your input nor your Stories are used to train AI models. See the Privacy Policy for details.
7. Community rules and your content
You can post short anonymous confessions to the community feed. You own what you write. By posting, you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, moderate, and display that content within the Service, for as long as it remains posted. Delete a post and the license ends, except for copies needed for legal compliance or safety review. Private notes in your repair log are never published and are covered by the Privacy Policy.
The rules
The feed works because it's anonymous and safe. When posting or interacting, you must not:
- Include names, contact details, or anything that could identify you, your child, or anyone else.
- Post content that describes, encourages, or threatens abuse, neglect, or harm to a child or any person, or content that sexualizes minors in any way.
- Harass, shame, or attack other parents.
- Post spam, advertising, or off-topic promotion.
- Impersonate others, misuse reporting, or attempt to identify other users.
- Post anything unlawful, or infringe anyone's rights.
Moderation — zero tolerance
We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. Every confession passes automated safety review (including an AI classifier) and, where flagged, human review before or shortly after publication. You can report any post, hide any post, and hide all content from an author — reported content is reviewed promptly and removed if it breaks these rules. We may remove content, restrict features, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, at our sole discretion, with or without notice. Posts describing situations beyond the scope of the app are not published; instead, the author is shown professional support resources.
8. Acceptable use of the Service
You must not:
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or copy the Service or its content except as the law expressly permits.
- Interfere with the Service's operation, security, or rate limits, or access it by automated means.
- Use the Service to build a competing dataset or to train machine-learning models.
- Circumvent moderation, bans, or feature limits (including story-generation limits), or use the Stories feature to generate content unrelated to repairing a moment with your child.
9. Our content and license to you
The Service — including scripts, affirmations, design, and software — is owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app on devices you own or control, for your personal, non-commercial use, subject to these Terms and the applicable app store's usage rules. Repair scripts and AI-generated Stories are suggestions for your personal use with your family — not content you may republish or resell.
10. App store terms
If you downloaded the app from the Apple App Store: these Terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support, and is not responsible for the app, any product warranties, or any claims relating to the app (including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection, or IP claims). Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you. You represent that you are not located in an embargoed country and are not on any restricted list, and you must comply with applicable third-party terms when using the app. Equivalent provisions apply for Google Play as required by Google's terms.
11. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, non-interruption, or that any script, story, or suggestion will produce a particular outcome with your child. AI-generated Stories are produced automatically and are not reviewed by a human before you see them. Community content is written by other users and does not represent our views; we do not verify it. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or lost profits or data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or (b) USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including where applicable liability for gross negligence or willful misconduct, or your statutory consumer rights.
13. Indemnity
You will indemnify us against claims and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you post or your breach of these Terms, to the extent permitted by your local law.
14. Termination
You can stop using the Service at any time and delete your data via Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the Service (in which case we'll give reasonable notice where practicable). Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 6, 7, 9, 11–13, and 16) survive.
15. Changes to the Service or Terms
We may update the Service and these Terms. For material changes we'll notify you in the app before they take effect and update the effective date above. If you keep using the Service after that date, the new Terms apply. If you don't agree, stop using the Service and delete your account.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the operator's place of establishment, except where the mandatory consumer-protection law of your country of residence applies and grants you additional rights. Before any formal dispute, contact us at unyell@depekur.com — most issues are fixable in one email. If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remain in effect. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service.
